Our projects for 2024-2025
EcoSan toilets have been installed and will be ready for use once the floor and walls are finished.
How do EcoSan toilets work?
Instead of digging a new latrine pit when the current one is full, we are installing EcoSan toilets - a closed system which uses no water. Once the first pit is full it is sealed and left to compost for 8-9 months, after which the compost can be used on crops. In the meantime a second pit is used.
Installing EcoSan toilets and showers
Nursery school - the building has been completed and needs plastering, windows and doors, and outdoor play equipment.
Building and equipping a nursery school building
Teachers dormitories - during the rainy season it can be impossible for teachers to reach the school - by having 2 teachers sleep on site, the children won’t miss out on their education. Having teachers on site will also help with security and save money spent on teacher accommodation.
The building is finished and the roof is on, the next step is to put in windows and doors and WCs and washbasins (M and F)
